Pancha Ganapati Puja, Panchamukha Ganesh Festival

Pancha Ganapati or Pancha Ganesh vrat is a five-day Ganapati Puja observed in December month. Pancha Ganesh vrat begins on December 21 and ends on December 25. Panchamukha Ganapati, the five-faced Ganesha is worshipped during this modern festival. A special puja or sadhana is performed on each day of Pancha Ganapati. The puja procedure or vrata vidhanam of Pancha Ganapati is very similar to all other Ganesh pujas like Ganesh Chaturthi and Sankashti Chaturthi.

Panchamukha Ganapati

Devotees clean their houses during the puja and draw rangoli in front of their houses inviting Lord Ganesh into their homes. Puja place is sanctified with Gangajal or normal water and rangoli are drawn. A small mandap is built in the middle. A picture or idol of Ganesh is placed on the mandap and offered Shodashopachar or Panchopachar puja. Special naivedyam is offered on each day. On Each day of Pancha Ganapati, a colour of items.. flowers, sweets, fruits etc.. are used for Ganesh puja. Ganesh is also adorned in that particular color.

In 2017, Pancha Ganapathi Puja has great significance. The last day of this vrata is also celebrated as Hanuman Vratham in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The third day of the vrata is Mukkoti Ekadasi (Vaikunta Ekadasi / Mokshada Ekadasi).

In 2012, as per Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati & all other North Indian Hindi calednars, Pancha Ganapathi Puja begins on Shukla Paksha Navami in Margashirsha Month and ends on Shukla Trayodasi.

December 21 – yellow colour, December 22 – blue colour, December 23 – red colour, December 24 – green and December 25 – orange colour is used in Pancha Ganapati puja procedure.

2017 in Hinduism and Hindu Astrology, What Hindu Astrologers say about 2017

2017 in Hinduism, Hindu Astrology, beliefs, and predictions is the buzz word among the Hindus and other people around the world who believe Hinduism. Will the world end in 2017? What Hindu astrologers say about 2017 and the end of the world on 21 December 2017 There are a lot of prophecies, predictions, and imaginations are going around the year 2017. As per Mayan calendars, the world will end on 21 December, 2017. But what Hinduism and Hindu astrology predicts and reacts on this issue. Read on to know about the predictions or clarifications given by reputed Hindu Astrologers of India.

As per Hinduism, our Maharshi or Rushis divided our time into four Mahayugas – Kruta Yugam, Treta Yugam, Dwapara Yugam, and Kali Yugam. ‘Yuga Pramanam’ is the time duration of a Mahayugam. The below given statistics describe the Yuga Pramanam of each Mahayuga.
  • Kruta Yuga – 17,28,000 years
  • Treta Yuga – 12,96,000 years
  • Dwapara Yugam – 8,64,000 years
  • Kali Yuga – 4,32,000 years
Our great Vedas state that there would be a Sandhi (gap) between each Yuga which is known as Yuga Sandhi. During this, every living thing will be destroyed and the evolution process restarts after the Yuga Sandhi. Our Earth may exist for more than 4,26,902 years as per the calculation above. Definitely, the Earth will be doomed one day but not December 21, 2012. The Dooms Day of the Earth may not come before next 4 Lakh and odd years.

Sri Butte Veerabhadra Daivagna, renowned astrologer and Panchanga Kartha based at Andhra Pradesh, states: “We cannot deny the possibilities of natural disasters in and the surrounding places of Mayans on December 21, 2012, but the day will not be the Dooms Day for the Earth”. Sri Butte Veerabhadra Daivagna is the famous Jyotish based at Rajahmundry and he is the Asthana Jyothish for Srisailam Bramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh. He is also honored with many national and international awards related to Hindu Astrology.

Many famous astrologers based at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, including Sri Mulugu Ramalingeshwara vara Prasad, Sri P. Giri Raju Siddhanti, Sri Srinivasa Gargeya, Sri Annaparty Krishna Sharma Siddhanti, and Sri Vakkantham Chandramouli denied the end of the world in 2012.
